141 Ministry

Merry Christmas 2019

Can you believe it’s December already with Christmas soon approaching? What a special season especially for us who have our eternal Hope in Jesus Christ. Talk about a gift that keeps on giving! Thinking of Him as a Christmas gift coming to us as a baby makes me think of our family receiving two early Christmas gifts this year. The first was Isla Rose, born to our daughter Abby and husband Dallas on October 11. The second, Calvin Mark, came eight days later to our son Alex and “daughter in love” Aubrey, October 19. Two years prior Abby and Aubrey had the reverse, with Dax and Kennedy, born only 11 days apart! Including the twins, Gavin and Chase, we now have six grandchildren!

I travel with Project Hope and made nine trips to Haiti this year. On my last trip, I had the privilege of being with my college and seminary buddy Pastor Joel Battaglia. He and his wife Kristie live in Vermont where they have served at Lyndonville Bible Church for 28 years. Simply put, Joelly is the real deal. We led a group of Haitian pastors through a study of the book of Jonah and had a ball doing it.

I was driving one day about 8 years ago, asking God what to call my ministry, when I saw the “141” highway sign. It occurred to me a little while later, I think God gave me a “sign”, literally! Well, I’m still traveling Highway 141, doing ministry “One for One”, which simply means investing myself in another man, so he will do the same for another and so on. That is discipleship! God knows how to shape us up as we need to be who God wants them to become. That is, helping men be like His Son, the best man ever.

The Church where I preached in November…very humbling.

Doing ministry overseas and helping people here walk with God are two things about which I am passionate and privileged to be able to do. I also realize that I could not do it without your help and I am humbled by your partnership and generosity.

If you have not as yet and feel in your heart you would like to help me help another, may God bless you for it!!

“The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.” Proverbs 11:25 NLT

May you have a very Merry Christmas!
